She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul (today Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts), from which she graduated in 1968. She currently lives and works in Izmir. Her painting is figurative but not realist. Drawing inspiration from French art — especially Post-Impressionist movements — her recent works tend toward a more abstract expression. She has participated in group exhibitions in various cities across Turkey, and her works are found in private collections both in her country and abroad.
