After graduating, he became actively involved in artists’ collective affairs. He served as General Secretary of the Association of Athens School of Fine Arts Graduates, President of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, and member of visual arts committees for the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Athens. He also showed an interest in writing: his poems have appeared in various literary journals, and he has published four poetry collections (‟The Ancient Wall with the Small Wildflowers”, 1990; ‟The Little Mayor”, 1992; ‟Afloat”, 1999; ‟From Within”, 2014). He worked as a producer of television and radio programs dedicated to the visual arts (for ET2, the Fourth Programme of ERT, etc.). In 1993, together with painters Kostas Aggelakis and Margarita Radeva, he founded the nonprofit Art and Culture company ‟Art Group Three” as well as the ‟Free School of Fine Arts of Glyfada”, aiming at a broad cultural intervention. The group dissolved in 2009.
His work encompasses painting, iconography, and printmaking. His paintings and prints focus on themes such as the human figure, landscape, and allegory. His style draws on Byzantine art and Expressionism, while incorporating elements of abstraction and the repetitiveness of Pop Art. In his religious painting, he adheres to the Byzantine tradition.
His first solo exhibition was held at the University of California, Berkeley. This was followed by solo exhibitions in various Greek cities, as well as participation in numerous group shows in Greece and abroad (Panhellenic Art Exhibition, 1969 and 1971; Ljubljana Biennale, 1993; Greek Printmaking Triennial, Pierides Gallery, 2001, among others). In 2024, his book ‟In Icon: Greek Iconography in the 20th Century” (Papazisis Editions, Athens), dedicated to the art of icon painting, was published.

[10

post-815","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-10
["GET
