He studied Biology at the University of Illinois and, with a scholarship from his American high school, attended art courses at the Art Institute of Chicago. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1982–1987), in the studio of Dimitris Mytaras. With an IKY scholarship he continued his studies at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in France. Until 1989 he apprenticed with Yannis Tsarouchis. A figurative painter, he focuses on landscapes, portraits, and above all, the human figure in interiors or outdoor settings. Noteworthy is his series of paintings on large commercial ships/tankers. His style is shaped by strong expressionist influences, with a tendency toward distortion, bright anti-realist colors, and a thick, textured brushstroke. Some of his compositions also reveal influences from Byzantine and folk art. He has also worked in sculpture, often drawing inspiration from antiquity. His first solo exhibition took place in 1982 at the gallery Hydrochoos (Athens). Since then, he has presented his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in cities across Greece.

[10

post-701","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-10
["GET
