His grandmother was from Lemnos. His parents relocated to Alexandria, Egypt, where he was born and raised. He studied textile design in Athens (specializing in liturgical vestments). A self-taught painter, he produced portraits in ink. He became more systematically involved with painting after his retirement. The main theme of his work is the landscape of Lemnos: traditional settlements, stone houses, beaches, natural scenery. His style, while close to sharp, photographic realism, betrays the na\u00efve character of a self-taught artist.
